5/31/2017 0 Comments Clay tray set1. My tray set is used for chips and dip. My design is made for this because the tray has tall edges made for holding something, then there is a small bowl to go with it to add salsa or any other dip you would like.
2. I came up with my idea by asking my mother what she would want around the house that I could make with clay. She suggested a chips and dip bowl and I took this idea and changed it from a bowl to a tray to make it a little different then the regular bowl. 3. To make this piece I started with the small bowl. I rolled the slab out and then used a mold. While this was hardening I made the tray. To do this I had to cut the base and all of the edges and then score and slip them together. Once they were all connected they went into the kiln to be bisque fired. Next I painted them with gray and a teal color because I thought they went well together. After 2 layers of glaze they went to be fired again. Now they are ready to be used for chips and dip. 5/22/2017 0 Comments PersPective1. I used 1 point perspective.
2. I used pencil as my medium. 3. The photo I took was down a little alley way when I went to Florida for spring break. It was so beautiful with all of the plants and the house down the center, and I thought it would be a challenge to draw. 4. I found it difficult to make the items look 3D. It was difficult to visualize how to draw these items bigger than ones in the back, making it a challenge for me. 5/22/2017 0 Comments VAE Postcard1. I used 2 different mediums and 5 different techniques. I started with a base of blue and green tissue paper to make a water color. I then used acrylic paint to paint the jellyfish onto the card. Next I used bubble wrap and dipped it in acrylic paint, which I pushed onto the card. Then I used silver pen to add a different texture and color to the tentacles of the jellyfish. The last technique I used was glitter which I put around the whole card.
2. My word was beach. When I think of the beach I think of the many creatures of the ocean, I portrayed this through the sea creature the jellyfish. 4/6/2017 0 Comments Finished clay box

3/6/2017 0 Comments TWo in one1. The medium I used was a combination of water color and colored pencil. I chose this medium to create the picture so that it had a base color that was not very precise and then I could go in over it and add details and texture with colored pencils. Allowing for a base color and detail.
2. For my "two-in-one" piece I combined a deer and a tree. Making the deer's antlers the branches of the tree. 3. To start my piece I found inspirational photos to give me ideas on what to do. I then found a picture of a deer and a image of a tree that I wanted to combine. I started in my sketchbook and drew a draft of my piece. I then tested the medium that I was going to use on my final project. I then got watercolor paper and drew the deer in pencil. I then painted over it in water color. After I painted the base I went over it in color pencil adding detail and colors to make the piece more defined. I then painted the background blue with sky and used blotching. That was the steps I used to create my piece. 2/22/2017 0 Comments Material spheresColor Pencil Sphere Oil Pastel Sphere Chalk Pastel Sphere Pen Sphere Charcoal Sphere Cut Paper Sphere Pencil Sphere Acrylic Sphere Watercolor Sphere 1. My favorite medium was chalk pastel because the colors were easy to blend and it was very smooth. Although it was messy I found it to be the most effective to use and most effective in showing all of the different shades from the lightest point to the core shadow.
2. My least favorite medium was the acrylic. I found acrylic very hard to use and hard to blend. I also did not like the outcome of my Sphere because the colors we used were already very dark which made it hard to show the different values going from the highlight to the core shadow. |
