1/31/2017 0 Comments Inspired Artist: lisa ericsonLisa Ericson is a well known artist who bases her creations off of imaginary animals, and hybrids that intertwine species. She creates many hyperrealistic images of these animals and is also the illustrator of the children's book named "Dil and Bizzy". The material that Lisa uses, usually consists of acrylic, but she also has many other paintings and prints. Lisa grew up in New York and studied art at Yale with her sister, she now lives in Portland, Oregon. Link: http://www.lisaericson.com What inspires me about Lisa Ericson's artwork is the detail and creativeness of the image. Her artwork portrays realistic life forms, but combines them to make them form one singular creature. I find this very captivating and interesting how she uses many species to create a single species, but all at the same time it creates a whole ecosystem. The part of the artwork that draws me in the most is the detail and colors against a dark background. This feature allows for her image to shine, which is what catches my eye and attracts me to it, especially the tail of the fish. Ericson is very creative in her work and connects many life forms, which is what interests me the most. |
